| Description: | Se considera dientes supernumerarios o hiperdoncia cuando hay un excedente en el número normal de la primera o segunda dentición. Son infrecuentes en la dentición permanente, aparecen comúnmente en hombres que mujeres, en una proporción de 2:1. La etiología es diversa y existen teorías que consideran que pueden resultar de cuestiones embrionarias (hiperactividad de células epiteliales), otra teoría dice que puede tener un origen hereditario que sigue un patrón autosómico dominante. |
