| Description: | Evolution is all those changes that occur and have occurred over time in living beings. And this implies a genetic change, which is the main factor of evolution. The branch of biology that studies these processes is called "population genetics" and supports theoretical principles that explain evolutionary changes. Most species are made up of one or more populations where they interbreed with each other, forming a genetic pool that we call a Mendelian population. This exchange of genes is the key point where evolution takes place. Genetic material is the only component that is transmitted from generation to generation, therefore, if an individual leaves more descendants, its genetic diversity will be more present. Thus, the frequencies of the different alleles change from generation to generation, always remaining the one that has expanded the most. La evolución son todos esos cambios que ocurren y han ocurrido a través del tiempo en los seres vivos. Y esto implica un cambio genético, que es el principal factor de la evolución. La rama de la biología que estudia estos procesos se hace llamar “genética de poblaciones” y sustenta principios teóricos que explican los cambios evolutivos. La mayoría de las especies se componen de una o más poblaciones donde se cruzan entre sí, lo que forma una combinación genética a la que llamamos población mendeliana. Este intercambio de genes es el punto clave donde se desarrolla la evolución. El material genético es el único componente que se transmite de generación en generación, por lo tanto, si un individuo deja más descendientes estará más presente su diversidad genética. Así las frecuencias de los distintos alelos cambian de generación en generación, permaneciendo siempre la que más se haya expandido. |
