| Description: | This article summarizes some aspects of the current discussion about the role of academic discourse and the teaching of academic language in the German context. The first two sections take a look at the current role of the German and the English languages in the German Higher Education sector. Based on the analysis of the current situation in Germany, the third section discusses some of the key elements that are needed for the development of a new language policy in the HE sector, a language policy that does not conceive of internationalisation in Higher Education solely as a process of anglification but as a means of striving towards a truly multilingual situation. This is followed by some observations concerning pedagogical principles and concepts that are regarded important when developing a multilingual approach in the HE context. En este artículo se presentarán algunos aspectos de la actual discusión sobre el papel del discurso académico y su didáctica en el contexto alemán. Para ello se abordará primero el papel que juegan el alemán y el inglés en la enseñanza académica en Alemania (capítulos 1 y 2). En segundo lugar se discutirán, partiendo de la descripción de la situación actual, algunos de los requisitos indispensables para el desarrollo de una política lingüística, la que a su vez concibe a la internacionalización de la ciencia no sólo como una anglización, sino como una manera de llegar a un verdadero plurilingüismo. Y por último, se presentarán algunas observaciones y principios didácticos para un modelo plurilingüístico en el ámbito universitario. |
