Description:	This paper examines whether government ideology has influenced the public expenditure in Jalisco. Using a longitudinal case study, this research compares PAN (2007-2012) and PRI (2013-2018) governments to show their decisions on public expenditure. The results suggest that there are differences between the two governments and that ideology influences on public spending, but only in some items. Este trabajo examina si la ideología del gobierno ha influido en la distribución del gasto público en Jalisco. Por medio de un estudio de caso de tipo longitudinal, se comparan los gobiernos del PAN (2007-2012) y del PRI (2013-2018) para mostrar sus decisiones de gasto. Los resultados sugieren que sí hay diferencias entre los dos gobiernos y que la ideología sí afecta el gasto público, pero sólo en algunos temas.
