Description:	Faced with imminent climate change and its challenges, humanity finds itself in the task of evaluating the current state of the problems and challenges that the implementation of possible solutions and plans to try to control the ravages generated by this phenomenon, which, despite management of global governance in this regard, the expected results have not been achieved so far and they are not even close to achieving the 2030 agenda. This article aims to make visible one of the natural ravages associated with climate change, such as the loss of sea species, especially in some Latin American countries, and the current state of world governance in this regard, in order to guarantee the sustainable development of fishing communities and regions, which have the challenge of developing capacities that allow them to be resilient to this phenomenon. Ante el inminente cambio climático y sus retos, la humanidad se encuentra en la tarea de evaluar el estado actual de las problemáticas y retos que representan la implementación de posibles soluciones y planes para tratar de controlar los estragos generados por este fenómeno, que, a pesar de la gestión de la gobernanza global en este aspecto, no se ha logrado alcanzar los resultados esperados hasta el momento y tampoco se acercan al logro de la agenda 2030. Este articulo pretende visibilizar uno de los estragos naturales asociados al cambio climático, como lo es la pérdida de las especies del mar especialmente en algunos países de América latina y el estado actual de la gobernanza mundial en este aspecto, con el fin de garantizar el desarrollo sostenible de las comunidades y regiones pesqueras, las cuales tienen el reto de desarrollar capacidades que le permitan ser resilientes a este fenómeno.
