| Description: | On Wednesday, April 22, 1992, a tragedy occurred in Guadalajara, the capital of Jalisco. Since that sad morning, the audiovisual record has been a determining factor in showing the magnitude of the explosions, evidencing the seriousness of the event and supporting the judicial, journalistic and social investigations carried out. Photography, video and film have been used with various nuances in social disciplines, their use as a way of documenting the sociocultural reality is already longstanding. This article aims to make a general review of the use of photography and documentary film that have focused their gaze on this fact, which marked the society of Guadalajara, and how for the cinematographic work Nunca más abril has been a fundamental reference. El miércoles 22 de abril de 1992 sucedió una tragedia en la capital Jalisciense. Desde esa triste mañana, el registro audiovisual fue un factor determinante para mostrar la magnitud de las explosiones, evidenciar la gravedad del suceso y respaldar las investigaciones tanto judiciales, periodísticas y sociales. La fotografía, el vídeo y el cine han sido empleados con diversos matices en las disciplinas sociales, su empleo como forma de documentar la realidad socio-cultural tiene ya una larga data. Este artículo tiene por objetivo hacer una revisión general al uso de la fotografía y el cine documental que han centrado su mirada en este hecho que marcó a la sociedad tapatía y cómo, desde una visión histórica podemos observar sus rupturas y continuidades. |
