Description:	With a focus on social mobility as a possible indicator of well-being for the social housing inhabitants, in this work, we report results of afield study that reviews the conditions of social mobility in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua during the period 2002-2010, as a result of the acquisition of new housing. This period is considered because it coincides with the application of the national housing policy promoted in Mexico during the same years. The results of this analysis reflect the effects of the policy intended to address the housing deficit that has been identified in Mexico. For the analysis, we used the variable of dwelling change as an indicator of social mobility, assuming that moving to a new house should mean an improvement in the quality of life for a family. Using this and other assumptions, we analyzed whether social mobility presents components of this change in the lives of the inhabitants, taking advantage of the multiple o ers of the real estate market in Ciudad Juarez during this period. With these results, it is established that, despite the increase in the production of social housing in Ciudad Juarez, the problem of effective provision is sharpened and there seems to be no general positive impacts on the social mobility of the beneficiaries of the policy. Con enfoque en la movilidad social como posible indicador de bienestar para los ocupantes de la vivienda de interés social, en este trabajo registramos resultados de un estudio que revisa las condiciones de movilidad social en Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, durante el periodo 2002- 2010, como consecuencia de la adquisición de vivienda nueva. Se toma en cuenta este periodo porque coincide con el de aplicación de la política nacional de vivienda impulsada en México durante los mismos años. Los resultados de este análisis reflejan los efectos de la política, diseñada en primer término para afrontar el deficit de vivienda que se ha identificado en México. Para el análisis utilizamos la variable del cambio de vivienda como indicador de la movilidad social, en el supuesto de que mudarse a una casa nueva debería significar una mejora en la calidad de vida de una familia. Utilizando este y otros supuestos, analizamos si la movilidad social presenta componentes de ese cambio en la vida de los habitantes, al aprovechar las múltiples ofertas del mercado inmobiliario en Ciudad Juárez. Con estos resultados se establece que, a pesar del incremento en la producción de vivienda social en Ciudad Juárez, el problema de la provisión efectiva se agudizó y no parece haber impactos positivos generalizados en la movilidad social de los bene ciarios de la pol?tica.
