Title:	An illocutionary approach to fallacy theory Una aproximación ilocucionaria a la teoría de falacias

Description:	Fallacies have been traditionally defined as patterns of invalid reasoning that appear to be valid; however, due to the taxonomical difficulties of this definition, several projects have emerged in order to improve it. We believe, nevertheless, that by positing the traditional view we still can obtain interesting results. To show how this is so we claim that some of the most common fallacies are instances of invalid arguments within the Searle & Vanderveken’s illocutionary logic, which, in our opinion, turns out to be a rather traditional solution. To reach this goal we follow three steps: first we offer a brief exposition of the standard treatment of fallacies that enables us to notice an explanatory assimetry; then we present the features of Searle & Vanderveken’s logic that are relevant for our purposes; and finally we suggest some illocutionary models, for five fallacies, that show in what sense they are deductively invalid. Tradicionalmente, las falacias han sido definidas como patrones de razonamiento inválido con apariencia de validez; sin embargo, debido a los problemas taxonómicos que esta definición genera, varios proyectos han surgido para superarla. Nosotros creemos, no obstante, que asumiendo la posición tradicional todavía podemos obtener resultados interesantes. Para mostrar esto, en este trabajo proponemos la tesis de que algunas de las falacias más comunes son instancias de argumentos inválidos en la lógica ilocucionaria de Searle y Vanderveken, lo cual, en nuestra opinión, resulta ser una solución más bien tradicional. Para alcanzar nuestra meta seguimos tres pasos: primero comenzamos por ofrecer una breve exposición del tratamiento estándar de las falacias que nos permite observar una asimetría explicativa; posteriormente, presentamos los aspectos de la lógica ilocucionaria de Searle y Vanderveken que son relevantes para nuestros fines y, finalmente, sugerimos algunos modelos ilocucionarios, para cinco falacias, que muestran en qué sentido son deductivamente inválidas.
