| Description: | Entre 1857 y 1910, en las agrupaciones científicas de la ciudad de México se desarrollaron varios estudios sobre la lluvia a escala local, regional y nacional que se plasmaron en sus revistas. La historia social de la ciencia permite comprender la discusión de amateurs y profesionales de la ciencia mexicana sobre la lluvia que se consideraba útil para distintos problemas agrícolas, médicos, demográficos y materiales. Las revistas de las agrupaciones científicas muestran la paulatina conformación de una red meteorológica en el país, gracias a sus socios y a la puesta en práctica de capacidades para colectar datos del ambiente a distintas escalas territoriales. Contributions to the History of Meteorology through Environmental Studies of Scientific Associations in Mexico City, 1857-1910 Between 1857 and 1910, in scientific groupings in Mexico City, there developed several studies of rain at local, regional and national levels, which were published in their magazines. The social history o fscience allows us to understand the discussion of amateurs and professionals of Mexican science about rain, which was considered useful for various agricultural, medical, demographic and infrastructural problems. Magazines of scientific groups show the gradual formation of a meteorological network in the country, through its partners and the implementation of skills to collect environmental data at different territorial levels.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.31836/lh.15.6097 |
