Description: The Teaching of Phonetics and Phonology: Research on pedagogical and linguistic aspectsis the second book whose content is basen on different projects that students and professors from the Maestría en Estudios de las Lenguas y Culturas Inglesas (MELCI), at the Centro Universitario de Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades of the Universidad de Guadalajara have carried out in recent years.This time around contents are realyted to the teaching of phonetics and phonoly in the traching and learning of the English language. It foucses on Critical Pedagogics in regards to the perception of English accents that teachers would have, it also explores how a textbook series presents pronunciation and the allocated time to each activity. Then, it presents action research and experimentacion on how segmentals and suprasegmentals are taught in two teaching settings: secondary school and the traching of General English for adult students. Finally, it explores how suprasegmentals features could be implemented to teach, learn or do research abput Mexican Sign Language or LSM by its Spanish name.
