Title:	La basurología mexicana.

Description:	The garbology founded by Professor Rathje was not limited to the University of Arizona, its students and collaborators, or the country that saw it born. In Mexico, there was close collaboration with the Garbage Project team that resulted in the development of research that replicated their methodologies and in the training of professionals and academics in said approaches. In this article, a balance of the scientific publications of the last twenty years is made to determine to what extent, these works on waste could be considered heirs of the research agenda proposed by the Garbage Project, in which areas of work the basic nucleus is identified of concerns and where Mexican garbology is evolving. The results show the validity of the research agenda envisioned by Professor Rathje as well as its dynamism and evolution based on the fruitful link established with the culture of consumption and discarding. La basurología fundada por el profesor Rathje no quedó circunscrita a la Universidad de Arizona, a sus estudiantes y colabores, ni al país que la vio nacer. En México, se tuvo una colaboración cercana con el equipo del Proyecto Basura que derivó en el desarrollo de investigaciones que replicaron sus metodologías y en la formación de profesionistas y académicos en dichas aproximaciones. En este artículo se hace un balance de las publicaciones científicas de los últimos veinte años para determinar en qué medida, estos trabajos sobre residuos podrían considerarse herederos de la agenda de investigación propuesta por el Proyecto Basura, en qué áreas de trabajo se identifica el núcleo básico de preocupaciones y hacia a dónde evoluciona la basurología mexicana. Los resultados muestran la vigencia de la agenda de investigación avizorada por el profesor Rathje, así como el dinamismo y la evolución de la misma a partir del fecundo vínculo establecido con la cultura del consumo y del descarte.
