dc.descriptionThe objective of this article is to analyze the strategies implemented by the state in order to control the space operation for the sale of alcoholic beverages in the city of Culiacán, Sinaloa, during the Revolution, from 1911 to 1915. This work is based on a qualitative approach that allows examining the decrees, agreements issued during the council sessions, police factions, files of the criminal branch and relevant notes from the Sinaloa press. We argue that there was a significant lack of control and surveillance in the so-called ‘ethylic spaces’, which made it impossible to comply with the regulations, as well as the complicity of members of the local government so that the saloons operated illegally.en-US
dc.descriptionEl objetivo de este artículo es analizar las estrategias implementadas por el estado para controlar el funcionamiento de los espacios de venta de bebidas alcohólicas en la ciudad de Culiacán, Sinaloa, durante la Revolución mexicana, de 1911 a 1915. Este trabajo se sustenta en un enfoque cualitativo que permite examinar los decretos, acuerdos emitidos durante las sesiones de cabildo, bandos de policía, expedientes del ramo criminal y notas de la prensa sinaloense sobre el tema. Se argumenta que hubo una ausencia importante de control y vigilancia en los espacios etílicos, lo cual imposibilitó el cumplimiento de las normativas, así como la complicidad de miembros del gobierno local para que las cantinas operaran de manera ilegal.es-ES
