dc.descriptionIn this article, positive actions that certain governments from Latin America and the Caribbean take in favor of the fight for gender equality will be revisited, under the context of the health crisis of COVID-19 that has been hitting the region since the second trimester of 2020th. There will also be a headcount of the challenges that the production of statistics of gender represent in this contingency, acknowledging that the generation of hard data concerning the impact of the pandemic in gender equality represents crucial importance for the implementation of more and better public policies and diverse actions that manage a comeback of women to the “new normality” in a secure way and in conditions of recovering what was lost and keep moving in matter of gender equality.  en-US
dc.descriptionEn este artículo se revisan las acciones que algunos gobiernos de Latinoamérica y el Caribe han emprendido como acciones positivas por la lucha de la igualdad de género en el marco de la crisis sanitaria causada por el COVID-19 que azota la región desde el segundo trimestre del año 2020. También se hace un recuento de los retos que presenta la producción de estadísticas de género en esta contingencia, reconociendo que la generación de datos duros respecto al impacto de la pandemia en la igualdad de género reviste una vital importancia para la implementación de más y mejores políticas públicas y acciones diversas que gestionen un retorno de las mujeres a la “nueva normalidad” de manera segura y en condiciones de revertir lo perdido y seguir avanzando en materia de igualdad de género.  es-ES
