dc.descriptionEn este trabajo se ofrece un panorama amplio de las tendencias de los procesos de integración económica en la región del Pacífico, destacando la competencia política que gira en torno al Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP) y al Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) y poniendo de realce las ventajas y las desventajas de ambos proyectos de integración económica; el análisis sincrónico permite destacar la importancia actual de la economía estadounidense y, por ende, del proyecto de bloque regional organizado en torno a ella; el análisis diacrónico establece un contraste entre el deterioro progresivo de la economía estadounidense (y del TPP), así como los progresos realizados por el conjunto de economías participantes en el proyecto del rcep. The TPP vis-à-vis the RCEP: Advantages and Disadvantages of Both Projects.The paper offers a broad overview of trends in the processes of economic integration in the Pacific region, highlighting the political competition revolving  around the Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP) and to the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), as well as highlighting the advantages and disadvantages of both economic integration projects; the synchronous analysis allows us to focus on the importance of the us economy and hence of the project of regional bloc organized around it; the diachronic analysis establishes a contrast between the progressive deterioration of the American economy (and the TPP) as well as the progress made by the group of participating economies in the project of the RCEP.es-ES
