dc.descriptionThe objective of this work is to identify value judgments of land owners living within the Eslava river watershed, in relation to ecosystem’s services provided by the site. Openquestion polls were employed, applying them to a sample of forty two land owners (male and female). The answers were structured using the manual indexation method, using witness statements as the unit of analysis and the types of ecosystem functions as the categories. The quantitative analysis was complemented with a frequency analysis of the opinions. It was identified that land owners value the watershed mainly because it provides them with food, water and clean air. It is apparent they rightly understand the synergy between the ecosystem’s components and that they recognize urban development as a threatening factor for the watershed and the forest. These findings will allow the creation of social and environmental programs capable of integrating the local vision and, from an understanding of it, take care of the environmental problem.  en-US
dc.descriptionEl objetivo de este trabajo es identificar los juicios de valor de los ejidatarios que viven en la cuenca del río Eslava respecto a los servicios ecosistémicos del lugar. Se utilizaron encuestas con preguntas abiertas, las cuales se aplicaron a una muestra de cuarenta y dos ejidatarios (hombres y mujeres). Las respuestas se estructuraron empleando el método de indexación manual, considerando la frase testimonio como unidad de análisis y, como categorías, los tipos de funciones ecosistémicas. El análisis cualitativo se complementó con un análisis de frecuencias de las opiniones. Se identifica que los ejidatarios valoran la cuenca principalmente porque los aprovisiona de alimento, agua y aire limpio. Se observa que comprenden correctamente la sinergia entre los componentes del ecosistema y que reconocen la urbanización como un factor de amenaza para la cuenca y para el bosque. Los hallazgos permitirían la creación de programas sociales y ambientales capaces de integrar la visión local y de atender el problema ambiental desde la comprensión de esta. es-ES
