| Descripción: | This paper could be considered as a microhistory of El Peñol town, since there was a research, about the elements that have left a mark in it, such as monuments, memories, papers and even, about some matters that seem to be unrelated to the main topic. Besides, some issues like the geography and the territorial contrasts were also appointed. In order to understand the purpose of this research, it is necessary to know the recent events in the region, which include the industrial boom of the capital city (Medellín) as well as of the Aburrá Valley, sites that have been causing since 1926, everyone to place all of the expectations for electricity supply, in the Nare River basin. The hydroelectric project of the Empresas Públicas de Medellín (Colombia), consisted of many changes, not only physical, but also economic and social in the population of El Peñol, nevertheless, its people have struggled and negotiated moving to a new municipal capital. El presente trabajo se puede considerar una microhistoria del municipio de El Peñol, en la que se indagó sobre los instrumentos que han dejado huellas: monumentos, recuerdos, documentos, incluyendo asuntos que parecen ajenos al tema central. Se trató con cierta amplitud lo geográfico y se hizo referencia a los contrastes territoriales. Para entender el porqué de esta investigación es necesario saber sobre la historia reciente de la región, la cual inició con el auge industrial de la capital del departamento, Medellín, y del Valle de Aburrá, lo cual hizo que desde 1926 se pusieran las expectativas de suministro de energía en la cuenca del río Nare. El Proyecto Hidroeléctrico Peñol-Guatapé implicó muchos cambios, no solo físicos sino también económicos y sociales en la población de El Peñol, que con ahínco supo luchar y negociar el traslado a una nueva cabecera municipal. |
